Blogging for First Time

I'm blogging for my first time, so hopefully everything goes well. As I mentioned in my video board discussion, I teach freshman and sophomore English at Ryle High School. I love the students and staff, they make teaching there a great place to work. This new form of communication kind of scares me, but I'm enthusiastic about learning new concepts, ideas, and strategies. Something new that I can apply and implement in my classroom instruction.

  1. Hello- glad to have you here- this is new territory for us all but I do believe that this is where things are going and that this will be a great tool for communication not just in this class but beyond. Glad to see you!

  3. The common assesment at my school is in the start up phase. Which means problems. How many questions, when are they do, how to asses, how detailed, too much detail etc. We feel we have recreated the wheel. Our books are aligned with the state standards. Your school is much larger than ours. There are two of us who teach 9th grade history. For the past nine years he has been exactly one chapter ahead of me in the same book. I can see the relevance in a larger school. However, when there is the the TWO of us it is NOT needed!
